This Privacy Policy applies to all mobile applications developed, published, and maintained by Volt LLC. By using our apps, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here. It is written to actually be read, not skimmed past on the way to the accept button.
What Data We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your email address and basic profile information you choose to provide, such as a display name or profile picture.
User Generated Content
The data you actively enter into our apps. This includes inventory logs and asset details in Gear Saver, recipes in Recipe Saver, goals, notes and the voice rambles you record in Braindump, chess games and analysis in Chess Coach, audio recordings in Voice Clip, brand marks and the kits built around them in Brand Kit, posts, Connects and live streams in Connect, care records and documents in Hands to Hold, invoices in Invoice Nudger, the titles you save to your library in Volt Stream, and saved addresses and order notes in Custom Creations.
Order and Shipping Information
In our shop apps, such as Custom Creations, placing an order collects the shipping address and phone number you enter, what you bought, the amount you paid, and the order history attached to your account. An address you save is kept so you can reuse it on a later order, and a copy of it is frozen onto the order itself, so editing your address in the future never rewrites a receipt from the past. The phone number travels with the parcel for delivery only.
Payment Information
Card details are typed into Stripe's own payment sheet and go straight to Stripe. Volt LLC never sees, receives, or stores your card number, expiry date, or security code. What reaches us is what Stripe sends back: whether the payment went through, and a reference we use to match that payment to your order.
Usage and Diagnostic Data
Basic, anonymized technical data such as device type, operating system version, and crash logs, used only to fix bugs and keep the apps stable.
Push Notification Tokens
If you enable notifications, we store a device token, which is the device identifier named in our App Store and Google Play data disclosures. It is used solely to deliver notifications relevant to your account, such as telling you that an order has shipped. Push delivery uses Firebase Cloud Messaging strictly as a transport layer. Volt LLC does not store your data in Firebase, and does not use Firebase Authentication or Firestore.
Spark
Spark has no account and asks for nothing to play. Your progress stays on the device you play on and is never sent to us. If you buy Spark Premium through our Stripe checkout, for example by scanning the code on a TV, we keep three things so we can turn Premium on and restore it later: an identifier for the device you bought it for, the claim code that links that device to your purchase, and the email address you gave Stripe. Premium bought through an app store is handled by that store instead. To have this deleted, email info@volt.rocks from the address you paid with and we will remove it.
Nerdies
Nerdies has no account and asks for nothing to play. Your progress stays on the device you play on and is never sent to us. On iPhone and iPad, Nerdies sends nothing to us at all; the Nerdies Privacy Policy for iPhone and iPad says so on its own page. On the TV builds (LG, Samsung, Titan, Whale, and the web TV build), Nerdies makes a random identifier for the TV and sends it to our server to check whether Premium is on, when the game starts and every few hours while it runs, whether or not you subscribe. Our server logs those requests with that identifier and a hashed form of your IP address, mixed with a secret key so it is never the address itself, and deletes the log after 24 hours. If you start Nerdies Premium through our Stripe checkout, for example by scanning the code on a TV, we keep what we need to turn Premium on and restore it later: the identifier of each TV it unlocks, the claim code that links those TVs to your subscription, the email address you gave Stripe, which we also use once to email you that claim code, and Stripe's own identifiers for your customer record and your subscription. So that each person gets one free week, we also keep a hashed form of the card and the email address a free week started with, mixed with the same secret key, never the card number or the address itself. Card details go straight to Stripe and never reach us. On Xbox, Nerdies is the same web TV build loaded inside the Xbox app; it sends no identifier to our server, and Premium there is bought only through the Microsoft Store. Premium bought through an app store (Google Play, the Amazon Appstore, the Microsoft Store or the App Store) is handled by that store instead. To have this deleted, email info@volt.rocks from the address you subscribed with and we will remove it. The Nerdies video links on volt.rocks (volt.rocks/nerdies/ followed by a short name) only pass you on to the app store for your device: they set no cookies and store nothing about you or your visit.
How We Use Your Information
We use the data we collect strictly to:
- Provide, maintain, and support the core functionality of the applications
- Securely sync your data across your devices
- Process premium subscription entitlements
- Take payment for an order, then make, pack, and ship it to you
- Show you the status of an order and tell you when it ships
- Deliver relevant push notifications
- Provide customer support and respond to your inquiries
- Diagnose and fix technical issues
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties, and we do not use your data for advertising or ad targeting.

We rely on a small number of trusted, industry standard third party services to operate our infrastructure. We do not control these providers' own privacy practices beyond the data we choose to share with them:
Data Security
We use industry standard security practices to protect your information, including encrypted data transmission and access controls on our databases. No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and while we work to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Age Requirements & Children's Privacy
Most of Volt LLC's apps, our website, and our services are built for and intended to be used by adults. As stated in our Terms of Use, you must be at least 18 years old to create an account with any of them.
Nerdies is the exception. It has no account and is made for teens and adults: anyone 13 or older may play it. It collects nothing about the player beyond what the Nerdies section above describes.
Separately, and in compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), our applications are not directed at, and are not intended for use by, children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If we learn that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will promptly delete it from our servers. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, contact us at info@volt.rocks and we will investigate and remove it.
International Users
Our apps are available in multiple countries and regions. If you use our apps from outside the United States, your information will be processed and stored in the United States, where our infrastructure is hosted. By using our apps, you consent to this transfer and processing.
Data Retention and Your Rights
You retain ownership of your data and may request its complete deletion at any time.
Deleting your account permanently removes your personal data and user generated content from our active databases. Some minimal records may be retained where required for legal, security, or fraud prevention purposes.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated Effective Date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
