Nerdies Terms of Use
Short, plain and fair. What you may do with Nerdies, and how the optional monthly Premium subscription works.
Last updated: October 12, 2026
1. Who these Terms are with
These Terms of Use are an agreement between you and Volt LLC, 610 Old York Road, Suite 400, Jenkintown, PA 19046, the maker of Nerdies. They are not an agreement with Apple. Apple is not responsible for Nerdies or what it contains, and has no duty to provide maintenance or support for it.
Nerdies on iPhone and iPad is also covered by Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which you can read at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula. If something here conflicts with Apple's agreement, Apple's agreement wins where it applies. Apple and its subsidiaries are third party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
2. Who may play
Nerdies has no account and no sign in. It is made for teens and adults: anyone 13 or older may play it. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian should read these Terms with you and agree to them, and should make or approve any purchase.
3. What you may do with Nerdies
Volt LLC gives you a personal license, not transferable, to use Nerdies on Apple devices that you own or control, as the Usage Rules in the App Store allow. Your progress, your settings and your collection are kept on your device and nowhere else.
Please do not copy, resell, rent or take apart Nerdies, or its art, sound, voices or text, except as the law allows.
5. Learning, not instructions
Nerdies teaches how everyday things work and shows what goes wrong when they break. It is for learning. It does not replace a licensed electrician, plumber, mechanic or any other professional, and it does not make a repair safe to try at home. If something at home or on a car is dangerous, call a professional.
6. Privacy
Nerdies collects nothing about you. How that works is written out in the Nerdies Privacy Policy.
7. Ownership
Nerdies, its characters, Nerdie and Eleanor, and its art, sound, voices and text belong to Volt LLC and its licensors, and are protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. Our names and artwork may not be used with any product or service without our written permission.
8. No guarantees, and limits on liability
Your use of Nerdies is at your own risk. Nerdies is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. If Nerdies fails to meet a warranty that the law will not let us exclude, Apple may refund the purchase price of the app if there was one, and Apple has no other warranty duty for it.
Volt LLC, its directors, employees, partners and suppliers are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages from your use of, or inability to use, Nerdies. Where the law of your home country says otherwise, that law applies.
9. Governing law and changes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions. We may change these Terms. If a change is material, we will try to give at least 30 days of notice before it takes effect. Questions about Nerdies, or a claim that Nerdies infringes someone else's rights, can come to us at the address below.
