Connect Privacy Policy
What Connect collects, why it needs it, who helps us run it, and how to delete it, in plain words.
Last updated: October 21, 2026
The short version
Connect is a social app for meeting people in your city. To do that it keeps your account, your profile and what you post. It never asks for your device location, shows no ads, has no analytics and does not track you across other apps or websites. We do not sell your data. You can delete your account inside the app at any time.
What Connect collects
Your account. The email address and password you sign up with. Your password is stored only as a secure hash. We also record when you confirmed you are 18 or older and when you accepted the Terms of Use.
Your profile. Your username, display name, profile photo, bio, interests and the place you choose: your country, your state or region where there is one, and your city. You pick or type these yourself, and you can change them at any time.
What you create. Connects, photos, stories, comments, discussion posts, daily answers, likes, follows, direct messages, live stream chat and the live streams you host or join.
Activity in the app. Streaks, points, challenge completions, notifications sent to you, who viewed your stories, invite links you share and the people you block. This is what makes the app work, not analytics.
Your device. A push notification token, so we can send you notifications. If you send a bug report, it includes your device model, operating system version and Connect version, along with any screenshot you choose to attach.
Support and reports. Anything you send through Customer Support or Report a Bug, and any report you file about a person or a post.
What Connect does not collect
Connect never asks for or reads your device location. The only place we hold is the city you pick, and that is all other people see. Connect does not read your contacts, does not collect your advertising identifier, and contains no advertising, analytics or tracking code. Your card or bank details never reach us, because Apple or Google takes every payment.
The camera and microphone are used only when you take a photo or go live, and only after you allow them. Live streams are not recorded.
How we use it
- To run your account and show your profile and posts to other people on Connect.
- To help you find and connect with people in your city.
- To deliver messages, live streams and notifications about activity that involves you.
- To keep Connect safe: filtering slurs and abuse, checking photos, and handling reports and blocks.
- To confirm your Premium subscription.
- To answer your support requests and fix bugs.
- To meet our legal duties.
What other people see
Your username, display name, profile photo, bio, interests, city and what you post are visible to other people on Connect, as a social app intends. Stories disappear after 24 hours. Direct messages are seen only by the people in the conversation. Anyone you block can no longer see you in their feed, search, your profile or messages.
Safety and moderation
Everything you type in Connect passes through a filter on our servers that refuses slurs, sexual content and abuse before it posts. Every photo you upload is checked by an automated moderation service before it goes up: the photo is sent to Google for that check, and a photo that shows nudity, sexual imagery, graphic violence or hate imagery is refused and removed. We keep a record of each check.
When someone reports a post or a person, we review the report. Messages are stored on our servers so they can reach the other person, and they are not end to end encrypted. We look at messages only to handle a report, to keep people safe, or when the law requires it.
Who helps us run Connect
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the services that run Connect for us:
- Supabase hosts your account, the database and the photos you upload.
- Agora carries live video and audio while a stream is on.
- Google Firebase Cloud Messaging delivers push notifications. It is used for nothing else.
- Google runs the automated check on each photo before it posts.
- Apple and Google Play take every purchase and payment.
- RevenueCat confirms and manages your subscription. It receives your Connect account ID and your purchase records from Apple or Google.
Each has its own privacy policy. We may also share data when the law requires it, or to protect the safety of a person.
One Volt login
Connect is made by Volt LLC, and its sign in is a Volt account. If you use the same email in another Volt app, it is the same login. Your Connect profile, posts and messages are kept apart from those other apps.
Storage and security
Your data is stored on Supabase cloud servers and travels encrypted between your device and our servers. Access to it inside Volt LLC is limited to the people who run and support Connect.
Your choices and deleting your account
- Edit your profile and change your city at any time.
- Delete your posts, comments and messages at any time.
- Block anyone from their profile, a post or a chat, and undo it in Settings under Blocked Users.
- Turn notifications off in your device settings.
- Delete your account in the app under Settings. This erases your Connect profile, posts, comments, messages and photos. Your Volt login is removed too, unless you still use it in another Volt app.
You can also ask us for a copy of your data, or ask us to delete it, at mark@volt.rocks. We keep your data while your account is open. Deleted data may remain for a short time in routine backups, and we keep support messages only as long as we need them to help you or as the law requires. Deleting the app does not delete your account, and it does not cancel a subscription.
Age
You must be 18 or older to use Connect. It is not meant for anyone younger, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 is using Connect, tell us at mark@volt.rocks and we will close the account and delete its data.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see, correct, export or delete your personal data, or to object to how we use it. Write to us and we will answer. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
